Quiz Pads/Seats, Interface Box and Software
Though not necessary to start a Bible Quiz program at your church, using the quiz equipment during practice is really fun and helps teens later in actual competition. I have used equipment from each of these vendors and recommend them both. You decide which is best for you and your program: Quizstuff.com - The default quiz pads for most - if not all - regional and national Nazarene Teen Bible Quizzing tournaments. Key Points: The QuizMachine software is very stable and can network with or import quiz data from other computers to quickly tabulate Individual averages and Team W/L and points. Considerations: Should 2 pads on a string fail, the entire string of pads must be discarded or returned for repair. Pads and software are specific to Nazarene-style Teen Bible Quizzing. Acmequiz.com - Quiz equipment for Nazarene and other denominational TBQ programs. If you already own Quizstuff or QuizTime pads, you can use them with the purchase of an adapter. Key Points: Product is in-stock and can be delivered within a week. Has the ability to replace individual pads rather than the whole string should one fail. Comes with the computer-based NextGEN scoring software or you can purchase an external console if you don't want to use a laptop. NextGen software can handle a multitude of different TBQ scoring rules (see the site for details on which denominations are included). Considerations: If you are a Bible Quiz Tournament Director, the statistical features of NextGen software are still in development. Not able to import, export or tabulate scores easily at this time. Preloading quizzers and teams to set up a tournament is very time-consuming. Scripture Portion (choose one)
The Foundry Publishing - Spiral-bound and pocket-sized versions of the NIV 2011 version of the book(s) of study. Key Points: Recommend the pocket-sized portion for first-year quizzers. It contains just the scripture. The spiral-bound version contains charts, lists and a concordance of all words in the scripture. Considerations: Both versions are black/white (though this may actually be preferred for some). Unique words and memory verses are indicated, but people, places, etc. are not highlighted (again, this may be preferred for those who wish to do their own highlighting). Acmequiz.com - Spiral-bound and pocket-sized versions in both NIV 2011 and ESV 2011. Key Points: Offers both a simple and color-coded pocket-size scripture portion. The 4-in-1 spiral-bound portion includes a variety of lists that advanced quizzers may find useful. This is the only color-coded spiral-bound scripture portion I've seen on the market. Considerations: Most of the lists in the 4-in-1 will go unused by the majority of quizzers. Some quizzers may actually prefer to do their own highlighting as a way to learn the material and to make the colors fit their personal system. Other Materials

Official NPH Youth Quiz app - Available from the Foundry store. Always have the scripture portion (full-version only), study questions, competition question sets, memory verse lists, and the rule book with you. Take advantage of those in-between moments to study or quiz your teen. Recommended for Quizzers and Coaches. As a web-based app, it works on any device.

Audio CD - For auditory learners. Great for teens to put the scripture on their listening devices so they can study while doing chores or riding in a vehicle. Available from Acmequiz. The NPH Youth Quiz apps already include the scripture audio (at normal, fast, and faster speeds!).
Memory Verse Flash Cards - Recommended for those dedicated to learning the Memory Verses. If you don't want to make your own (which is what I would actually recommend), you can purchase from Acmequiz.
Practice Questions - For Nazarene youth, I recommend the Foundry Publishing blue book of questions for studying at home as these questions are official questions that may also appear during competition. For Nazarene coaches, I recommend a subscription to Set Maker from Barefoot Ministries to get official questions. Print out customized question sets to conduct team practices. For all other denominations, Acmequiz has very useful books of practice questions.
